New Mizzou quarterback commit Sam Horn is already doing some recruiting of his own

Just days after committing to the Tigers, new quarterback commit Sam Horn is already on twitter recruiting other players to play for Mizzou. In an online interaction earlier today, the Collins-Hill quarterback tweeted at fellow Georgia recruit Cody Brown after Brown had mentioned being teammates with Sam Horn.

Brown, a four-star running back out of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia, is one of the top uncommitted prospects left in the 2021 class. Brown was actually signed with Tennessee back in December, but after their coaching change Brown asked out of his letter of intent and was officially released mid-February similar to recent Missouri offensive line commit J'Marion Gooch.

Missouri coaches and Brown have been following each other on Twitter ever since Brown was released and there has been rumored interest there since he hit the open market. It would make sense that Missouri wants to add just one more running back as 2021 commits Taj Butts and B.J. Harris will only be freshman and current Missouri running backs Tyler Badie and Elijah Young are more scat-backs or finesse running backs that are on the slighter side. Brown stands at 6'0", 220 lbs and is described as having plenty of strength and power. In his 2020 season at Parkview, Brown racked up 1,527 yards and 12 TD's on just 212 carries. Brown would be the perfect compliment to Missouri's current running back room and may be able to find playing time as a freshman. An elite high school prospect with more upside may also be more appealing than a transfer running back as well.

It's also nice to see Drinkwitz have recruiting success in rival SEC territory like Georgia. If Missouri is able to land Brown, it will be yet another highly-rated recruit outside the state of Missouri that Drinkwitz and Co. can hang their hat on. Missouri doesn't typically get elite level recruits further out than their own backyard. Landing Sam Horn may be the swaying factor here in getting Brown to commit and he deserves a lot of credit. It was mentioned in our last article that Missouri earning Horn's commitment is a great selling point to other top uncommitted targets and we're already seeing that. Also an added bonus that Missouri would be stealing yet another former Tennessee commit in Brown.
